We often dreamed of owning a letterpress print shop, but I think we both thought that would happen one day down the road. As we were first starting to investigate letterpress printing, we were completely enamored by the beauty produced by these relics. But these vintage presses have a pretty exclusive niche, so we originally found that most of the available presses were located clear across the country! They are crazy heavy, so this was out of the question.
One day we happened upon a listing for three Chandler & Price letterpresses on ebay, from a seller in Tignall, Georgia (about 2.5 hours away). The owner had very little knowledge of the machines, but knew they were something special and welcomed us to come take a look. To our surprise, the presses were stored on a trailer in the middle of 984 acres of cow pasture! We purchased two of them and towed them to their new home (we named them Omer & Maude). And since then, we have also acquired a 1950's Heidelberg Windmill (we call her Helga) and a Poco Proof Press No. 2 (still in need of a good name).
This heartfelt journey has led us here... to you today. Our desire is that we are a place of unique creativity and inspired style, while we continue the beautiful and historical aspect of letterpress printing. We love what we do and we know that each piece that we produce for you is shared with your closest friends and family and represents one of the most memorable days of your life. We are so rewarded to share in this experience!
